Tecno Camon 16 Pro specs and price in Kenya
There is one price tag for Camon 16 Pro in Kenya as well for the different memory variants. The 128 GB Camon Pro 16 costs Ksh. 20,000 in Kenya. There seems to be a mix up on how TECNO Mobile names these Camon 16 Series phones. The same might be said for the manner in which the company decided on their release dates. If we are being honest, there really isn’t that much difference between Camon 16, Camon 16 Pro, and Camon 16 Premier yet all three have varying price tags in Kenya.
Differences that exist among Camon 16 Series phones.

Tecno Camon 16 Pro comes with a big and bright 6.8 inches IPS LCD display panel. Look, dear reader, I cannot even get over the fact that it is a 90Hz refresh rate. Seriously, Infinix has entered the A – league here. But moving on, this panel does not disappoint when it comes to the resolution. We see a fair 720 x 1640 pixels resolution. Might I also explain what Dot-in-Display means? It basically refers to the output you see on this display which houses the dual selfie camera. And true to TECNO’s own words, this phone gives a wider viewing experience.
We would have hoped that Tecno Camon 16 pro would be the second TECNO smartphone to have a 90HZ refresh rate. Unfortunately, that is not so. This feature is only available on the Premier version so be sure to note this difference also. Just as a side note, displays with a higher refresh rate render images higher Hz times per second. The higher the refresh rate, the lesser is the motion blur, and the better the image quality.
Newly upgraded camera
This is how I would put it. TECNO Mobile adds so many camera features on its phones. So much that you would hardly use them all. Just to list a few! Here are some camera features present on Tecno Camon 16 Pro smartphone:
- Video bokeh
- Video beauty
- AI beautification 4.0
- 120 frame slow-motion photography
- Support for HD video output
- Super HIS Aerial camera stabilization
- AI scene recognition
- 10X Hybrid zoom
- 119° super wide-angle lens
- Ultra night portrait
Can anyone go wrong with all these features available at his/her disposal? I very little doubt that. This is courtesy of the 64 MP, (wide), 1/1.72″, 0.8µm, PDAF main camera – see also Tecno Camon 15. What you also get is an 8 MP ultrawide lens, 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro), and a brilliant 2 MP, f/2.4, depth sensor. Tecno Camon 16 Pro shoots videos in [email protected], [email protected] with gyro-EIS. It is unbelievable what you are getting here let’s all concede.
As for the selfie camera, scratch that, camera, Tecno Camon 16 Pro beings a dual 16MP front-facing setup this time around. Here is a list of examples of phones with dual selfie cameras: Infinix Zero 8, OnePlus Nord, and Galaxy S10+. You see the caliber of smartphones we are dealing with here? So, for me to say Tecno Camon 16 Pro is a top smartphone is not an exaggeration.
Under the hood are an Octa-core (2×2.05 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) CPU and a Mali-G76 MC4 which is an integrated high-end graphics card for ARM-based SoCs. As for storage, Infinix Zero 8 packs an expandable 128GB of internal storage with a whopping 6GB RAM. Interestingly enough, the Tecno Camon 16 Pro runs Android 10 with HiOS 7.0, and not 6.0 like on the premier version. Why Tecno intentionally does these (see battery section also) leaves more questions than answers.
What comes to mind when you hear about Mediatek Helio G70 (12 nm) I ask? Well, I might compare it to Snapdragon 665 which is a mid-range processor. Oh, and in case you are wondering, I am saying all this because the Camon 16 Pro is powered by a Mediatek Helio G70 (12 nm) processor. The Helio G70 takes the Snapdragon 665 by far, winning widely at AnTuTu and Geekbench. In fact, the G70 features MediaTek’s HyperEngine technology.
